Meet Dora! She's a 1-year-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix who's currently being fostered in Huber Heights, OH. Her rescuer got in touch with Dream 4 Pets, who asked me to feature this gorgeous gal on my blog. I'll let Dora's rescuer tell you all about her!
"Dora spent 3 months in a kill shelter sleeping on a hard, cold, concrete floor. She and her brother were released because their owners could no longer care for them. I spent a lot of time with Dora at the shelter and knew she was a great dog. I just couldn't understand why no one adopted her. But adoptions have been very slow these past few months. The folks at the shelter knew how much I liked Dora and I was told that if I didn't get her out of there that her time was nearing. She is now in a wonderful foster home and doing well.
She is a very sweet, calm, and gentle dog but has a very playful side too. She loves nothing better than climbing up by your side on the couch, getting petted, and taking a nap, but also likes her squeaky toys and a run around the back yard.
She loves to follow her foster mommy around and will bond easily to her new family. She gets along just fine with other dogs. She is good with kids too.
Dora is crate trained and sleeps all night without a peep. She enjoys taking walks and loves rides in the car, enjoying the smells along the way with the back window cracked open.
Dora is a very quiet dog and her foster mom says she only barks when someone is at the door.
Dora would be great as a second dog or as a dog for someone that wants some companionship thru out the day and night.
She's a gentle soul that has so much love to offer, will you help to give her a bright future?"
Dora weighs 33 lbs., is spayed, and is up-to-date on all her shots, including Rabies. She is heartworm negative and is on preventative. She is housetrained!
Her adoption fee is $100, which covers her spaying, shots, heartworm test, and worm preventative meds. A home visit is required before adoption!
Please e-mail Marcy at marcybeatty@sbcglobal.net for an adoption application, or call her at (937) 308-0705 for more information about sweet Dora!
