There has been a puppy population explosion at area shelters over the last two days - let's check out all the latest arrivals!
Darke County Doggies
(if you're interested in any of the following dogs, please call the Darke County Animal Shelter at 937-547-1649!)
This smiling sweetheart is Jax, a 9-year-old Welsh Corgi! The shelter staff says he's a short little guy who loves people and will make a great companion for the right family. Personally, I've always been a big fan of Corgis because they always look like they're smiling! :)
Speaking of smiles, check out Lilo! She's an 8-year-old Spaniel mix. She's a friendly girl who's just looking for the right home to retire to!
I had a hard time choosing which picture of Remmy to feature here because they were all sooooooooooo CUTE! This adorable sweetheart is a 3-month-old Shepherd mix who has an awesome set of ears. :) The shelter staff says he's a friendly little guy who just needs a good home!
Meet Averi! She's a 1-year-old Beagle. The shelter staff says she's a sweet little girl who's ready for adoption - she just needs her forever home!
This serious looking fellow is Malcomn, a 3-year-old Boxer. The shelter staff says he's a very friendly, nice guy who is full of energy and loves to play!
Meet Lacey! She's a 2-year-old English Setter who is current on her shots & is housebroken. She's good with kids, other dogs, and cats. She's already been spayed and will make a great companion for the right family!
Okay, so how great is Buddy's smile!? He's an 11-month-old Great Pyrenees/Husky mix who is current on all his shots & is good with kids. He is full of energy and loves to play!
The last of our Darke County dogs are nine - count 'em, NINE! - adorable Lab/Blue Heeler mix puppies! They are four months old, are current on their shots, and should grow to be around 50 pounds. The two in the first picture are male, and all the rest are female.
Miami County Doggies
(if you'd like to adopt any of the following dogs, call the Miami County Animal Shelter at 937-332-6919!)
Meet Mortie! This poor little guy was originally adopted from the Miami County Animal shelter a few weeks ago, but returned because his new owner's living situation changed & they were no longer allowed to have pets. He's a 3-month-old Lab/Border Collie mix who is very friendly & playful!
This gentle giant is Quincey, a 2-year-old Newfoundland. There isn't much info on his profile yet, but it does say he's a sweet boy who's very gentle!
Next up is Ellie, who I'm guessing came in at the same time as Quincey because she's also a Newfoundland & had the same arrival date. She is 3 or 4-years-old and is very affectionate & loveable!
Meet Margo! She's a 1 or 2-year-old Lab mix who was found in Piqua and will be available for adoption on 6/20/11. She's a bit shy but is a very sweet girl.
Shelby County Spotlight Doggy!
Jake is a Lab/Terrier mix who was supposed to be put to sleep on Friday but got a reprieve and has been given a third chance at life! He is in desperate need of a rescue organization, foster home, or forever home ASAP! If you'd like to help keep that gorgeous smile on Jake's face, call the Shelby County Animal Shelter at (937) 498-7201!
