Catching up! Forty-one Fantastic Pooches!

Welcome back!  My vacation & family time went well, and I'm now caught up on everything I was behind on after being gone...except doggy blogging!  So let's meet the cute pooches currently residing in our area shelters!

Darke County Doggies
(if you're interested in adopting any of these dogs, contact the Darke County Animal Shelter at 937-547-1645!)

First up is Matilda!  She's a 3-year-old Beagle who is friendly and very playful!  She will make a great companion & wonderful friend!

Next up is Dakota - he's a 1-year-old Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix.  As you can see, he loves to play fetch & have a good time!  He's just looking for a great family to give him a good home & throw the ball for him!

Meet Colbie!  She's a 1-year-old Border Collie mix who is a friendly girl & loves to play.  She'll make a great walking buddy for someone!

This smiling sweetheart is Maverick, a 6-month-old Boxer mix.  He's a friendly little guy who loves to play, and the shelter staff says they don't think he'll grow to be very big.

Meet Jake!  He's a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix who loves to play.  He's a friendly young guy who will make a great companion!

This lovely lady is Millie, a 5-year-old Husky mix who was found west of Greenville but hasn't been reclaimed.  She's a big girl who the shelter staff says has obviously been well fed!  She'd love a new place to call home!

Next up is Bo!  He's a 2-year-old Lab/Coonhound mix who is already neutered & is current on his shots.  He's a friendly guy who's ready for adoption!

ADORABLE PUPPY ALERT!!!  There are eight of these little sweethearts - 7 males and one female!  They are Lab mixes - most are all black, but as you can see, some have a little white on them.  They will be ready for adoption on August 16th at 10:00 a.m.  All are current on their shots, very healthy, and love to play!

This handsome fellow is Huck, a 1-year-old Lab/Boxer mix.  He weighs around 60 lbs. and is very playful - he just wants a great home to play in!

Meet Rocky!  He's a 3-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix.  The shelter staff says he's not very big and he's very friendly!

Check out the smile on Rex!  He's a 2-year-old Lab mix.  He's a friendly guy, but prefers to be the only dog in his family.  He loves attention and is looking for a good home!

Meet Mitzi!  She's a 3-year-old Shepherd mix.  The shelter staff says she's a nice girl who LOVES people!
Next up we have Jazzy!  She's a 3-year-old terrier mix.  She's housebroken, good with kids, good with dogs & cats - what a great pup!  She's sweet, loves to play, has a lot of energy, and will make a great walking companion!

Okay, so how cute is Josie!?  She's an 8-year-old Weimaraner who was found in the Wayne Lakes area.  She's a healthy, friendly girl who weighs around 70 pounds.  She'll make a great friend!

Next up we have Ace!  He's a 1-year-old Wirehaired Terrier.  He's a happy little guy who loves people, is full of energy, and loves to play!

I saved the tiniest & cutest of the Darke Co. dogs for last - meet Minnie!  She's a 1-year-old Yorkie/Maltese mix who is a sweet little girl that loves to play.  She will make a super companion & wonderful housedog!

Miami County Doggies
(if you're interested in adopting any of these dogs, call the Miami County Animal Shelter at 937-339-6919!)

Meet Misty!  She's an 8-month-old Border Collie and she was released to the shelter by her owner because she was "too much to handle."  The previous owner stated she was good with kids & was housebroken.  The shelter staff says she has lots of energy & is ready to go!

Next up is Betsy, a 1-year-old Boxer mix.  She was picked up as a stray and has not been reclaimed.  The shelter staff says she's extremely sweet and mild-mannered!

This little sweetie is Jinx, a 3 or 4-month-old Doberman Pinscher mix.  (I thought Dobermans were always black or brown, but according to Wikipedia they can come in white, as well - I learned something new!)  Jinx was found as a stray and has not been reclaimed.  He is an energetic and playful puppy that the shelter staff describes as a sweetie!

Meet Brewster!  He's a 4-year-old Lab who was picked up as a stray & not reclaimed.  The shelter staff says he's VERY energetic and playful!

Next up is Little Girl, a 1-year-old Hound/Retriever mix.  She was released to the shelter by her owner - along with her 8 puppies.  The shelter staff is hoping to find Little Girl a forever home also - they say she'd be great for someone who isn't up to dealing with the puppy stage!

The last of today's Miami County dogs is Duke, a 6-year-old Shepherd/Beagle mix.  He was released to the shelter by his owners because they had too many dogs in their home and "needed to downsize."  He is neutered, current on his vaccines, housebroken, and good with kids!

Shelby County Doggies
(if you're interested in adopting any of these dogs, contact the Shelby County Animal Shelter at 937-498-7201!)

Meet Buddy!  He's an Australian Shepherd/Collie mix, and he was released to the shelter by his owners.  He is current on his vaccinations, is housebroken, and has been around kids!

This handsome fellow is Blue, a Bluetick Coonhound.  The shelter staff says he looks like a Gascony Blue and is a highly trainable young boy!

Meet Jonas!  He's a 1-1/2 year old Border Collie mix.  He is on the higher side of "medium sized," and is a well-behaved, lower energy dog.  He seems to like people and other dogs!

Next up is Levi!  He's a Border Collie mix who is a laid back young boy.  He does good on a leash, loves attention from people, and would be very trainable!
This gorgeous gal is Whinny!  She's a Boxer mix who has a cropped tail & cropped ears.  The shelter staff says she's a nice, well-behaved girl!

This handsome boy is Angus!  He's a Lab mix - unfortunately his profile doesn't have any other details, but if you call the shelter I know they'd be willing to answer your questions!

Meet Spring!  She's a Lab mix who's just a baby!  She has long legs & big paws that she has to grow in to!  She's got a lot of energy & loves to play!

Next up is Jet!  He's a Lab mix with gorgeous gold eyes!  He's very calm on and off leash, and would make a great family pet!

This gorgeous sweetie is Sundae!  She's a Yellow Lab who seems to like other dogs and LOVES people!  She's got a little energy on leash, but nothing bad for a young pup!

Meet Jennica!  Isn't she stunning!?  She is a German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix who is a very calm, well-behaved girl.  She gets along with other dogs & walks well on a leash.  She knows how to sit and shake paws on command!

Meet Candace!  She's a Shepherd mix who is well-mannered.  She pulls a little on leash, but will sit and settle down when asked to!

Last but not least, we have Elvis!  He's a sweet little Shih Tzu who was dumped at the shelter by his previous owners.  The shelter staff thinks they dumped him because they didn't know how to prevent fleas - Elvis has a little flea pyoderma going on at the base of his tail but that's totally preventable.  He also has a little clouding of the cornea but still appears to have some sight.  Due to the condition of his teeth, the shelter staff doesn't think he's that old - his owners just never took good care of him.  They say he's a diamond in the rough and is very loveable!  Will you help Elvis leave this building?  (Sorry, I couldn't resist an Elvis joke!!)
