Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd Mix Needs A Home!

Today I got an e-mail about this as-yet-unnamed dog, who was dropped off near a woman's house one week ago.  Lucky for him, Kay (the woman who found him) is a dog lover and has been taking great care of him!

He is a fixed male Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd mix who is approximately 2 years old.  He weighs 50 pounds & is a little underweight, but isn't as skinny as he was a week ago.  Kay took him to the vet on 9/15/11 and he was given a clean bill of health - he is heartworm negative, flea free, and on Heartguard (heartworm preventative) and Comfortis (flea prevention).  While at the vet, he got all his vaccines, including kennel cough & rabies!

He interacts well with dogs of all breeds and sizes - he's interacted with a 7 lb. Maltipoo (Maltese/Poodle mix), 20 lb. Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix), and a 90 lb. German Shepherd/Chow mix without any problems.  Kay isn't sure about his interaction with cats because she doesn't have any.

His energy level is calm to medium, and he loves going on car rides, getting treats, and walking on a leash (he does pull a bit).  He gets along well with men and women, but Kay isn't sure about how he does with kids (as he has yet to be around any).  He is friendly with visitors but will bark when they arrive - something I think all dogs do!

He sleeps both outside and inside, is crate trained, and is housebroken.  He will stay in a fenced area if placed there.  Kay lives in the country & says the dog will track animals if not watched outside.  He'll sit on command.

Kay says he's a very sweet dog, but she already has three dogs & is hoping someone out there is looking for a forever friend!  If you're interested in adopting this gorgeous guy, please contact Kay at markkay@embarqmail.com!
