A few new pooches, and some pups in URGENT need of homes!!

Hi again!  I have a few new dogs to post today, but also want to feature some familiar faces who have been featured here before but have yet to find forever homes...they're on "doggy death row" at the Shelby County Animal Shelter and need your help now more than ever!

Let me start off with the newest dogs...

Meet Roscoe!  (Oh, what a face!)  Roscoe's family turned him in to the Miami County Animal Shelter because he was "too much to handle."  Here's what his profile says: "We are taking applications on Roscoe in order to find the best permanent home for him! Roscoe is a 2 yr old male, not yet neutered English Bulldog. He was released by his owner because he was too much to handle. Roscoe is definitely a bouncy guy, who hasn't been taught manners or any obedience. He responds very well to training and is eager to please, but will require some work. Come in and visit and fill out an application if you would like to be considered for him."  Please call the Miami County Animal Shelter at (937) 332-6919 if you're interested in Roscoe!

Next up is Jasper, a Pekinese mix who's around two years old.  He was found running loose & brought to the Miami County Animal Shelter.  The staff says he's very friendly and outgoing, and he will be available for adoption on 6/10/11.  Call (937) 332-6919 if you're interested in giving Jasper a new home!

Meet Maddie!  She's a 7 or 8-month-old Pointer mix who was found running loose & hasn't yet been reclaimed by her owner.  She's a little energetic, but is very sweet and eager to please.  She'll be available for adoption on 6/11/11 - call the Miami County Animal Shelter at (937) 332-6919 if you're interested in adopting her!

The last of our Miami County dogs is Josie, a 1 or 2-year-old Shih Tzu.  She, too, was picked up as a stray & will be availble for adoption on 6/10/11.  She is a friendly and loveable little girl!  If you'd like to give her a forever home, call (937) 332-6919!

Would you check out the gorgeous smile on Mallory?  This gorgeous gal is a Lab/Shepherd mix who the shelter staff says is very in tune with people.  She's a sweet gal, will sit while on a leash, and has good manners.  She's very intelligent, too, and would make a great addition to any family!  Call the Shelby County Animal Shelter at (937) 498-7201 if you'd like to bring her home!

Next up is Dixon!  He's a Lab/Boxer mix who is a pretty easy going boy!  He behaves well on a leash, and tolerated another male dog while on lead - he was just fine with him!  He doesn't mind cats, either.  He just needs a good home to call his own!  If you'd like to add him to your home, call (937) 498-7201!

And now, moving on to the "death row doggies."  :(  These pups are in URGENT need of good homes - please share with anyone you know who might be looking for a dog!  If you're interested in adopting one (or more!) of them, call the Shelby County Animal Shelter at (937) 498-7201!

"SCOOBY is such an AWESOME boy!! He is just one of the three look alike dogs at our shelter... He does well on lead and was content to lounge around while we took his pictures. He is in tune to people and likes to be near you. Scooby is an URGENT because he has been at the shelter for wayy too long and we are so surprised noone has adopted him or came to SCOOBY'S rescue!! He is very playful, loves treats and to be loved on:) He seems ok around other dogs, but just depends on the other dogs temperment. Who couldnt resist his scooby doo ears??"

"RUSTY is a great dog..very young and trainable. His owner dumped him at the animal shelter. Rusty is a very handsome boy in urgent need of a home. He does well on a leash, loves attention and is full of energy:) Rusty likes to play ball, run and treats! Please dont overlook this boy when walking past his kennel....Rusty barks to get your attention and has a way different personality outside of his kennel! Could you find it in your heart to give this boy a third chance at life??!"

"KENYA is a black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix female. She looks a lot like Scooby and Rusty only she has a long tail and they have bobbed tails. She is a nice and BEAUTIFUL dog that is very young around 1 1/2 yrs old. Came in with the blue bandanna tied on her neck..but no one has come to claim her. Kenya seems to do well on a leash and loves to go on walks! She has a awesome personality, gets along with other dogs and is just the nicest girl:) She deserves a forever home!!"

Last but not least is Jake, a Lab/Retriever mix who used to be known as Gaylord.  He was adopted but was returned--poor boy.  I haven't gotten the full story on why his new owners brought him back - here's what the shelter staff had to say about him during his first shelter stay: "He is such a sweet, intelligent and loveable boy.  He's probably around 7 months to 1 year old and is definitely still at a trainable age!  He loves to be brushed, petted, and given attention!  Since he is a young boy he does have a lot of energy, but will entertain himself if given toys."  If you'd like to give Jake another chance at a happy life, call (937) 498-7201!
