Twenty-two Tremendous Dogs!

I haven't been able to blog for a few days because Blogger went into "read only" mode and new entries couldn't be added.  Lots of great new dogs are available at the area shelters - here's who's been added since I last blogged!

Darke County Doggies
(if you're interested in any of the following dogs, call the Darke County Animal Shelter at 937-547-1645!)

Meet Sparkle!  She's a 1-year-old Black Lab mix who was found south of Greenville on 127.  She's a friendly girl who loves to play!

This smiley guy is Dupont, a 2-year-old Chocolate Lab.  The shelter staff says he's a wonderful guy who knows some commands.  He's a typical Lab - very friendly, a "people dog," and loves attention.  He'll make a wonderful companion!

Next up is Teddy, a 1-year-old Lab mix who has one of those faces that just breaks my heart - he looks so confused as to how he ended up in a shelter!  The shelter staff says he's a friendly guy who weighs about 60 lbs. and is just ready for a good home!

This fabulous foursome are 5-month-old Lab mix puppies - the two mixed colored ones are male and the two black ones are female.  They are all current on their vaccinations and ready to find great homes!

Last but not least at Darke County, we have Reece, a 1-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix.  The shelter staff says she's a friendly girl who's ready for adoption!

Miami County Doggies
(if you'd like to adopt any of the following dogs, contact the Miami County Animal Shelter at 937-332-6919!)

Meet Jovi!  She's a Coonhound who was found in Covington and hasn't been reclaimed by her owners.

Next up is Bullet, a Doberman Pinscher.  The shelter staff says: "He is a very loving dog that is very much still a puppy, bouncy-hyper, he does not like cats, is a little too much for smaller dogs. He needs home that knows Dobermans and can work with the issues he has, he likes to lean on his person, he will get protective over his yard."

This is Kelso - he's a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog!  He was found in Piqua, is already neutered, and is approximately 4-5 years old.  He's available for adoption as of today!

Shelby County Doggies
(if you're interested in adopting any of the following dogs, call the Shelby County Animal Shelter at 937-498-7201!)

The Shelby County Shelter has been absolutely inundated with new arrivals lately!  They're coming in so quickly that a lot of details haven't been posted on the dogs' Petfinder profiles - but if you see a dog that interests you, by all means call the Shelter and they will be more than happy to tell you more about the dogs!

Meet Renna!  She's a gorgeous Yellow Lab who'd like nothing more than a new family to call her own!

Next up is Foxy, a Chihuahua/Terrier mix.  The shelter staff says she's a young dog with an adorable personality!

This is JJ - he's a Rottweiler mix whose owner could no longer keep him & turned him in to the shelter.  The shelter staff says he has the physical traits of a Rottweiler, but with a smaller build.  They also say he's a nice young pup & is very trainable!

This little cutie is Scout, a Boxer pup who's only 9 or 10 weeks old.  The shelter staff says he's very thin, so someone wasn't feeding him or he's been left on his own for a while.  He could use a great home where someone could feed him & give him all the love he deserves!

Next up we have Sadie (top) and Rippy (bottom).  I originally featured Rippy on my blog on May 3rd, but after reading Sadie's profile I wanted to post him again.  Here's what the shelter staff said: "Sadie was dumped along with Rippy.  They are very attached to each other and Sadie had puppies 2 days after being dumped on us here at the shelter ... Rippy cares for the 3 newborns along with Sadie. They function as a family unit..Sadie is wonderful she is a little protective of her puppies and Rippy but that is understandable."  If anyone would like to adopt this adorable couple, please call the shelter!

Meet Scooby!  He's a Shepherd/Boxer mix that the shelter staff calls "a sweet young boy who's full of life!"  He loves attention & has the most adorable ears--he's just waiting for a new home!

This little sweetheart is Mikey, a baby Border Collie who would make a great addition to any family!

This gorgeous guy is Precious, a Black Lab mix.  What a gorgeous smile!

This sweet puppy is Chico, a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix.  I can't believe so many puppies are ending up in shelters!

Our last Shelby County dog of the day is another puppy - Prince, a Terrier.  Isn't he adorable?

As you can see, there are many, many, MANY great dogs available in our area shelters--please share this link with anyone who might be interested in giving one of these awesome dogs a home!

  1. Dupont looks exactly like my Alexa. A chocolate lab that's been with our family for four years now. Whoever decides to adopt Dupont, I assure you that you will never be disappointed. Labs are really sweet and cheerful dogs.

  2. Strictly in terms of return on investment, a steel one topped the list of Remodeling magazine's annual Cost vs. Value Report for 2014 -- recouping 96.6 percent of the average price. But a fresh coat of paint can work wonders, too. carmel valley homes for sale
